BIOGRAPHY

Berthe Courtemanche was born on 11 May 1914. She married Pierre Verdone in 1977.

On her 110th birthday, she was visited by Canadian politician Mario Beaulieu.

Berthe Courtemanche passed away in the neighbourhood of Pointe-aux-Trembles in Montreal, Quebec, on 31 December 2025, at the age of 111 years, 234 days.

RECOGNITION

On 25 October 2025, following the passing of Margaret Romans, she became the Oldest Known Living Person in Canada.
