Bertha Touriel was born in Rhodes, South Aegean, Greece, on 2 November 1906, to parents Rahamim Cohen (1874–1944) and Flora Rachel Tarica (1881–1944).

At some point, she married Dr. Elie Louis Touriel (1905–1977). They had children. At some point, she moved to the United States.

Bertha Touriel passed away in Los Angeles, California, on 9 August 2018, at the age of 111 years, 280 days.
