BIOGRAPHY
Bernice Blake was born in Lowndesville, South Carolina, USA, on 6 October 1915. She was born to James and Mattie Wansley and was one of twelve children, all of whom she outlived.
She married Lawrence Blake, and together they had two children, a son, Melvin, and a daughter, Gloria, whom she also outlived. Throughout her life, she faced numerous health challenges and overcame them all. While living in Bucks County, she hosted many family gatherings. In her free time, she enjoyed solving all kinds of puzzles, including crossword puzzles, cryptograms, and jigsaw puzzles.
Bernice Blake passed away in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 5 May 2026, at the age of 110 years, 211 days.
