Astrid Zachrison (née Jonsson [Jönsson]) was a Swedish supercentenarian whose age had been validated by the Gerontology Research Group.  She remains the Swedish longevity recordholder.

BIOGRAPHY

Astrid Zachrison was born in Fliseryd, Kalmar, Sweden on 15 May 1895 to Julius Jonsson (1856–1933) and Eleonora Josefina Amalia (1853–1944). Her grandmother lived to the age of 90. She married Tage Zachrison (1889–1977) in 1928, with whom she had one son, Per-Ivan (born 14 December 1928), who currently lives in Vetlanda at the age of 94 years, 12 days

She died in Holsbybrunn, Jonkoping, Sweden only half an hour into her 113th birthday on 15 May 2008.

RECOGNITION

She became the oldest living person in Sweden on 13 July 2004. After surpassing Elsa Moberg’s final age of 112 years, 143 days on 6 October 2007, to become the oldest validated person in Swedish history, and the second-oldest Nordic-born person ever after Christian Mortensen, who died at the age of 115 years, 252 days in California, USA. She was one of the three last people in Sweden born in 1800s. She was also the first validated supercentenarian to die on their 113th birthday. After her death, Rut Mikaelsson, four years younger than her, became the oldest living person in Sweden.
