Antonietta Maria Rocca was an Italian supercentenarian. Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

BIOGRAPHY

Antonietta Rocca was born in Rovagnate, Lombardy, Italy, on 7 October 1899. Even in her later years, she vividly remembered the carriages and horses that once traveled the avenues of Monza Park, back when she lived in the city where her father, Cesare, ran a tavern with live music.

She grew up in the Triante neighborhood with her parents, a sister, and six brothers. As an adult, she became a seamstress, following in her sister’s footsteps, who worked as a seamstress at a hat factory on Via Dante. Still, she never stopped helping at her father’s tavern, especially on holidays. Cooking was her passion—her fritter and gnocchi dough were renowned. At 103, she was still preparing polenta and rabbit stew for her niece. She eventually married Antonio Cerizza, a Carabiniere. The two first met in 1921 while living in the same tenement, where neighbors shared a bathroom at the bottom of the stairs.

In 2002, after the passing of her 75-year-old daughter, she moved into the Sant’Andrea residence in Monza.

Antonietta Rocca passed away in Monza, Lombardy, on 29 March 2010, at the age of 110 years, 173 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio, and validated by the ESO on 11 September 2025.
