Antoinette Mullen was born in Washington, District of Columbia, United States, on 12 April 1913. She was one of eight children born to Jeremiah and Mary Connor. After graduating from Notre Dame University, she married Joseph Hudson on 8 July 1939, and the couple had two sons named Timothy and Michael. They lived in Arlington, Virginia until Joseph enlisted in the military during the Second World War. Following his return from the war, the family resumed their life in Arlington, attending St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The pair were married for 29 years until Joseph’s death in 1968. In 1976, she married for a second time to Dewitt Mullen, but the marriage lasted for only one year before his death in 1977.
Prior to her retirement in 1973, she was employed by Institute for Defense Analysis in Arlington, Virginia. In 1989, she moved to California so she could be closer to her grandchildren, and became active in the community through charity work. Her hobbies included knitting, needlepoint, and making Christmas ornaments.
She passed away in Laguna Woods, California, United States on 22 April 2024, aged 111 years, 9 days. She was survived by both of her sons and a stepdaughter, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
