BIOGRAPHY

Anonymous of Hyogo was born in Japan on 29 April 1907.

According to her grandson’s social media posts, she was a Christian.

When she was 107 years old, her legs were strong. She reportedly said the names of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren one by one every day to send them positive wishes.

She would also try to be a role model for others, for example by wearing neat clothes and putting on make-up when going out.

On April 29, 2017, she celebrated her 110th birthday at her nursing home.

Following the death of Hama Yasukawa on 23 May 2021, she became the oldest living person in Hyogo Prefecture.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest living person in Japan, behind Fusa Tatsumi, and was also the sixth-oldest validated living person in the world, behind Lucile Randon, Tekla Juniewicz, Maria Branyas Morera, Casilda Benegas, and Fusa Tatsumi.
