Annie Hopkins (née Thornton) was an American supercentenarian who was among the oldest living people in the state of Texas at the time of her death.
Hopkins was born as Annie Thornton in Mount Pleasant, Texas, on 14 July 1914. Her parents were Alice and Coy Thornton. She graduated from Newman High School in 1932. After graduation, she attended San Angelo Business School. Her first job was working for her father, who owned Thornton Grocery, serving as a bookkeeper and part-time cashier. She later worked for Texcrete in the accounting department. After Texcrete closed, she became the plant manager’s secretary at Flintkote. Annie retired from Flintkote after 21 years.
She married World War II veteran Harold Hopkins in Roby, Texas, on 5 July 1960. The couple had no children. Hopkins was widowed on 20 January 2014 when her husband died aged 94.
During her centenarian years, she was reported as having a sharp mind, and able to use her wheelchair to move around the home independently.
Hopkins passed away on 1 November 2025 in Sweetwater, Nolan County, Texas, United States, at the age of 111.
