Anne Prieur (née Lepaitre) was a French supercentenarian.
Anne Prieur was born in the commune of Montreuil-Bellay in the Maine-et-Loire department, Pays de la Loire, France, on 15 September 1908. Her father, originally from Auvergne, worked as a farm laborer before becoming a winegrower, while her mother, from Poitiers, delivered bread in the countryside. The family initially lived in the pavilion of the Château de Coux before moving to Rue Porte Nouvelle in Montreuil-Bellay.
Anne attended private school until the age of 14, after which she began working alongside her father on the family estate. She would take the cows to pasture, often accompanied by a book and her knitting.
A highly educated individual, Anne had a deep passion for history and geography. She was an avid reader and a loyal subscriber to Le Courrier de l’Ouest, a daily newspaper she read consistently throughout her life.
Anne Prieur passed away in Montreuil-Bellay, on 18 March 2020, at the age of 111 years, 185 days.
Her age was verified by the Les Grands Centenaires Français, and validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 10 January 2024. This validation is yet to be recognized by LongeviQuest.
