BIOGRAPHY

Änne Küpper was born in Bornheim, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, on 29 December 1908. She had four siblings: three sisters and a brother. In 1912, she moved to Bonn with her parents and attended school there. In her professional life, she was always connected to the food retail industry, particularly the Kaisers coffee shop. After graduating from school, she completed an apprenticeship at the Bonn branch. Following her apprenticeship, she worked in Bonn for two years before being transferred to Sinzig as branch manager. She also had a stint in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

On 29 December 2014, on her 105th birthday, she celebrated the milestone at the Johanniter-Haus Sinzig senior citizens’ home (where she resided since 1997). She was visited by District Councillor Friedhelm Münch, who brought a letter of congratulations from Prime Minister Malu Dreyer. Additionally, she received flowers and gifts from Sinzig’s Councillor Charlotte Hager and the local mayor, Silvia Mühl.

Änne Küpper passed away in Sinzig, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, on 18 October 2020, at the age of 111 years, 294 days.
