Anna Marie Mancuso (née Gottone) was an American supercentenarian.
Anna Marie Mancuso was born in the neighborhood of Flushing in the north-central portion of the New York City borough of Queens, on 18 February 1903. Her parents were Antone and Rosemarie Gottone. When she was six years old, Anna’s parents moved the family to Denver, Colorado.
On 20 June 1926, she married Frank Gregory Mancuso in Denver. After their marriage, the couple moved to Grand Junction, where they spent most of their lives and raised their family. Following her husband’s death in 1999, Anna’s son moved in with her after leaving military service to care for her. After his passing in 2008, Anna moved to Mesquite to live with her daughter, Rose Marie Morelli, and her husband.
In her free time, Anna enjoyed gardening, bottling fruit, making jams and vegetables, cooking, and sewing. Later in life, she especially loved traveling with her daughter, Rose Marie. One of her favorite pastimes was playing penny slots at the casinos in Mesquite; she was reportedly very lucky and frequently won jackpots.
In 2014, Anna celebrated her 111th birthday and was honored by the Virgin River Hotel and Casino with a large party, and her photograph was displayed on the marquee along Interstate 15 for passing motorists to see. She was also honored by the Mayor of Mesquite and Utah Governor Gary Herbert as one of the oldest registered citizens.
Anna Marie Mancuso passed away in Mesquite, Nevada, on 30 January 2015, at the age of 111 years, 346 days.
In February 2013, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming the second documented supercentenarian in the state of Nevada, after Edna Kern. Kern, who was two and a half years older, also outlived her, so Mancuso was never the oldest living resident of Nevada.
Her age has not been validated.
