Amalia Cornejo Santana was a Mexican semi-supercentenarian.
Cornejo Santana was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, on 4 March 1910.
In 1912, the family moved to San Luis Potosí. Her father and her brothers were an employees in the American Smelting Company for many years. She only studied elementary school and then, at home, took craft classes.
In January 1940, she married José Cordero Pérez and had seven children: José, Ramón Humberto, Víctor Manuel, Rosario, Concepción, Lourdes and Silvia Amelia. They were married for 44 years until José Cordero’s passing.
When asked about her longevity secret, she expressed “leading a quiet life, avoid excesses, and fully enjoy every moment of happiness that comes your way.”
At the time of her 100th birthday, she had six living children, 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Cornejo Santana died on 12 October 2018 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, at the age of 108.
Her age was verified by Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) on 22 January 2021, and recognized by LongeviQuest later.
