On 28 December 2017, following the death of 109-year-old Frieda Binz-Schoch (who was only one day older), she became the oldest living person in Switzerland, at the age of 109.

On 9 April 2019, at the age of 111 years, 88 days, she surpassed the final age of Emma Duvoisin (1886–1997), becoming the oldest (known) Swiss-born person ever, and the third-oldest person ever in Switzerland. On 23 April, at the age of 111 years, 102 days, she surpassed the final age of Andree Fehr-de Boulay (1882–1993), becoming the second-oldest person ever in the country (after Rosa Rein).
