Akino Ueda (Japanese: 植田アキノ) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
BIOGRAPHY
Akino Ueda was born in Japan on 5 November 1912.
On her 110th birthday in 2022, it was reported that she was still able to feed herself fluids and jelly.
Akino Ueda was last confirmed alive on 1 January 2026, at the age of 113. She was a resident of Sumida, Tokyo.
RECOGNITION
In September 2023, she was reported to be the oldest living resident of Sumida Ward in Tokyo. On this occasion, she was visited by the Mayor of the ward. A congratulatory letter and a bouquet of flowers were given to her family on her behalf, as she was living in a nursing home.
Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yu Li, Yumi Yamamoto, and Takehiro Shibuya, and validated by LongeviQuest on 30 November 2023.
In September 2025, at 112, she was reported as the second-oldest living person in Tokyo, only after the anonymous lady from Setagaya, who was born in May 1912.
