Aki Onozaki [Japanese: 小野崎アキ] was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Aki Onozaki (小野崎アキ) was born in Japan on April 1, 1898.

When Onozaki was 103 years old, her younger sister, Taka Ōgaki, who lived nearby and was three years her junior, turned 100. The two were celebrated as long-lived sisters by the mayor of Yaita City, who paid them a congratulatory visit. Ōgaki later passed away in 2006 at the age of 105.

On March 7, 2008, following the death of 110-year-old Moto Oka of Nakagawa Town, Onozaki became the oldest living person in Tochigi Prefecture.

She passed away in Yaita City, Tochigi Prefecture, on February 18, 2010, at the age of 111 years and 323 days. After her passing, Aki Iizuka succeeded her as the oldest living person in the prefecture.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 28 October 2008 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
