BIOGRAPHY

Agnieszka Strzałka was born in in Kolonia Sól, Biłgoraj County, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland (then part of the Russian Empire), on 1 August 1912. At some point, she married Franciszek Strzałka (born 1907). She spent her entire life in Kolonia Sól, where, after getting married, she and her husband built their first farm. Together, they raised three children.

On her 100th birthday, she was visited by Wiesław Różyński, Mayor of the Biłgoraj Commune, along with Wiesław Niemiec, the village head of Kolonia Sól, and representatives from the Social Insurance Institution. They presented her with flowers, sweets, a birthday cake, and champagne. Additionally, she received a congratulatory letter from the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk. At the time, she described her childhood as difficult, shaped by the events of World War I. However, she emphasized that life with a loving family was incredibly important to her, providing the strength she needed and serving as her secret to longevity.

Agnieszka Strzałka passed away in Kolonia Sól, on 25 August 2022, at the age of 110 years, 24 days.
