Adelaida González Alonso was a Spanish supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.
BIOGRAPHY
Adelaida González Alonso was born in Arenillas de Villadiego, Castile and León, Spain, on 23 October 1902. She spent her early life in her hometown, where she married Emiliano Pedrosa and had her only daughter, Angelines. Sometime later—likely in the early 1950s—she relocated to the city of Burgos.
In interviews, she recalled the routines she valued, such as waking at 8:30 each morning and attending Mass at San Gil. Even in her later years as a centenarian, she continued to enjoy walking from the city center to the Las Huelgas neighborhood.
Adelaida González Alonso passed away in Burgos, Castile and León, on 20 November 2014, at the age of 112 years, 28 days.
RECOGNITION
González Alonso’s age was verified by Emilio Ibáñez, David Guarnizo, and Miguel Quesada, and was validated by the GRG on 26 January 2014.
At the time of her passing, she was the oldest known living person in Castile and León. Upon her own passing, she was s\ucceeded by Pilar Prieto Rubio.
