Ada Whitfield was born in Shepherd’s Bush, London, England, UK, on 8 January 1881. She married Herbert Whitfield, with whom she had two daughters, Beryl Paterson and Kathleen Winning.

Ada Whitfield passed away in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on 2 March 1991, at the age of 110 years, 53 days.

RECOGNITION

On 16 November 1990, at the age of 109, she became the oldest living person in Australia, following the passing of 110-year-old Mary Hurley. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Beatrice Pollock.

Her age was verified by Andrew Holmes, Anri Kusaku, and Jimmy Lindberg, and validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 21 August 2023.
