BIOGRAPHY

Tremonti was born in Mount Vernon, New York, USA, on 6 December 1904. Her parents were immigrants from Bisignano, Italy. She had four sisters, one of whom lived to be 100. At some point, she moved to Bronxville, where worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Later, she volunteered at Bronxville Hospital. In 1933, she married Joseph Tremonti, a Con Edison executive. The couple had no children.

In 2009, around the age of 105, she moved into the Carolton Chronic & Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield. For a decade before that, she lived in an assisted-living apartment in Trumbull.

Tremonti passed away in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA, on 25 February 2015, at the age of 110 years, 81 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Upon her passing, she was succeeded by Antonia Amore.
