Usa Higa passed away at her nursing home in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan on October 7, 2011 at the age of 112 years, 200 days.
RECOGNITION
In September 2008, Higa was reported as the eighth-oldest person in Okinawa Prefecture. Two years later, she was reported as the prefecture’s third-oldest person.
