BIOGRAPHY

Tosi was born in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, on 14 July 1913 (claims 11 July). She married twice, but had no children. In 1946, she voted for Italy to become a republic; she moved to Genoa, Liguria, following the death of her first husband.

As a centenarian, Tosi was devoutly religious, attending church services regularly until the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she would watch the services on the television. She is also a football fan, has a strict daily routine, and has never smoked.

RECOGNITION

Tosi has been reported by several Italian news outlets since her 107th birthday in 2020.

On 16 March 2024, following the passing of 112-year-old Ines Sommovigo, she became the oldest living person in the region of Liguria.

Her age was initially validated by the Gerontology Research Group in January 2024, using her claimed date of birth of July 11. However, research by Paolo Scarabaggio revealed that she was actually born on July 14, 1913. Consequently, her correct age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation on May 8, 2024, and the validation was recognized by LongeviQuest shortly after.
