Kie Takahashi (Japanese: 高橋キヱ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Kie Takahashi was born in Uchiotomo District, Daisen, Akita Prefecture, Japan, on 24 January 1910. She got married at the age of 22. Following her husband’s death in 1948, she supported her family by helping the local farmers and by working at long-established restaurants.

At the age of 100, she lived with her second son and his wife, grandson and his wife, and two great-grandchildren. At the time she used to spent her time reading newspapers and watching TV.

Takahashi passed away in Daisen, Akita Prefecture, Japan, on 22 August 2021, at the age of 111.

RECOGNITION

On her 100th birthday, she was handed a gift and a bouquet of flowers by the mayor.

At the time of death, she was the second-oldest living person in Akita Prefecture, after Mitsuno Sato.
