Willie Mae Jackson was born in Evans County, Georgia, USA, on 30 June 1916.
At 110, Jackson still attended weekly church services at the care facility where she lived. When asked what advice she would offer younger generations, she replied, “I would tell them to get in touch with the Savior, God, I know Him. He got me where I am.”
Her daughter attributed Jackson’s longevity to her lifelong faith and mental discipline. She also maintained simple habits throughout her life, including avoiding pork and enjoying tea—especially green tea and sweet tea.
At the time, Jackson had eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
