Teresa Brachetta was an Italian supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Teresa Brachetta was born in Treia, Marches, Italy, on 11 August 1899.

At some point she married and had five children: Alfredo, Mario, Maria, Bruna, and Beatrice (also known as Rosetta). She reportedly worked very hard over the years: in the fields, in brickworks, and with builders.

Teresa attributed some of her longevity to serenity and tranquility, qualities that characterized her life. Her diet was modest in quantity. She did eat all kinds of foods, but in small amounts. She had a fondness for gelato and also enjoyed drinking aranciata (a type of orange soda).

By the time of her 110th birthday, she was described as being in reasonably good health: she could converse with relatives, engage with radio/TV (especially the Mass), and she maintained an appetite. Her main health issue was hearing loss, but this did not prevent her from following conversations when aided by those around her. At the time, she had a “dozen or so” grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and extended family members.

RECOGNITION

For her 110th birthday, the municipal administration of Treia presented her with a plaque. The president of the Province, who was also her neighbor, extended congratulations and provided cake and refreshments at the parish theater.

Her age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio, and validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation on 2 September 2025, and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
