Estelline Hermine Kancel (née Samé) was a French supercentenarian whose age has not been validated by LongeviQuest. At the time of death, she was the second-oldest resident of the overseas region of Guadeloupe.

BIOGRAPHY

Kancel was born as Estelline Hermine Samé in Dampierre, Guadeloupe on 7 February 1912 as one of six children born to Octave Samé and Hermance Galvani, who were both farmers. She married and had a daughter, Françoise. She had outlived all five of her siblings by her 100th birthday.

In addition to being Guadeloupe’s second-oldest resident after Émilienne Bécarmin, Kancel was also among the top 10 oldest living people in France.

RECOGNITION

On her 109th, 110th, and 111th birthdays, Kancel was honoured by the mayor of Le Gosier, Cedric Cornet. Her birthdays were also recognised on the Facebook page of Ici Le Gosier.
