Maria Barbieri-Zanrè was an Italian supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Maria Barbieri was born in Borgo Val di Taro, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 27 July 1904. She had two sons, Silvio and Mauro Zanrè.

On her 110th birthday, it was reported that she was in good health and fully lucid, having never experienced any significant medical issues. In fact, she had never required a doctor’s care. Her only complaint, voiced occasionally, was a touch of hearing loss.

Maria Barbieri passed away in Borgo Val di Taro, on 17 April 2015, at the age of 110 years, 264 days.

RECOGNITION

On 12 June 2014, following the passing of Rosa Bandini, she became the oldest living person in Emilia-Romagna. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Margherita Orioli.

Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 19 August 2024.
