BIOGRAPHY

Eva Juventina Castillo Marín was born in Tezoatlán de Segura y Luna, Oaxaca, Mexico, on 8 January 1916. She was the third of four children—and the only daughter—born to Gregorio Castillo and Petra Marín. Her father passed away in 1918, leaving the family in difficult circumstances. In response, her maternal grandfather invited them to settle in Puebla, where he lived.

With her grandfather’s support, the four siblings pursued their education in Puebla. Eva Juventina followed in her mother’s footsteps and trained as a dressmaker. After completing her studies, she was employed by an aristocratic family in Puebla, where she spent her entire career as a seamstress.

She never married or had children. After retiring, she continued working as a seamstress from home.
