Luisa Roncoroni de Bizzozero

BIOGRAPHY

Luisa Roncoroni was born in the neighborhood of Boedo in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 30 June 1903. She attended school only until the third grade.

On 12 December 1925, at the age of 22, she married Antonio Bizzozero. Her husband died young. Their union produced three daughters, and by the time she reached 110, she also had two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Around 1958, she moved to Mar del Plata. Even in her centenarian years, she continued to cook and leave meals warming in the oven.

At 110, she was still described as energetic and did not take any medication. She credited her longevity to her faith in God and the support of her family.

Luisa Roncoroni died in Mar del Plata, Argentina on 1 September 2015 at the age of 112 years, 63 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 21 August 2015, becoming the first validated supercentenarian from Argentina. The validation was later recognized by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) and LongeviQuest.
