Marie Rose “Maryse” Lancioni was a French supercentenarian.
Maryse Lancioni was born in the commune of Vescovato in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica, on 8 November 1907. At 21, she left Corsica and her somewhat domineering parents, whom she had helped sell vegetables at the markets, and moved to Nice. She married but left her husband after two years. She then built a busy professional life, managing a small furnished apartment in Nice, running a flower shop, and traveling. In 1974, she settled in Èze, by the seaside.
Even at 110, she continued to spend part of her time cooking, both for herself and her neighbors. She was regularly accompanied to the supermarket in Beaulieu. At the age of 109, her hearing started to decline slightly.
In March 2019, she visited Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy.
Maryse Lancioni passed away in Eze, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, on 9 September 2019, at the age of 111 years, 305 days.
Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO), but the validation is yet to be recognized by LongeviQuest.
