Kami Miyazato (Japanese: 宮里カミ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Kami Miyazato (宮里カミ) was born on 1 May 1899 in Miyagi Island (now part of Uruma City), Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
In her youth, she worked at a textile mill in Shizuoka Prefecture. At the age of 24, she experienced the Great Kantō Earthquake and subsequently moved to a factory in Ōita Prefecture. She later returned to her hometown of Miyagi Island in Okinawa, where she married and was blessed with seven children.
Before the war, her husband, who was employed in a military-related position, was assigned to Manchuria. During this period, she took on physically demanding work typically done by men, such as tending rice fields and livestock, while also raising her children and managing the household. She later recalled this time as the most difficult period of her life. Her husband passed away when she was 91 years old. By the age of 100, she was reported to have 33 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
At the age of 100, she reportedly had good eyesight and hearing and a strong appetite. She enjoyed meat and sashimi, and her favorite dish was Okinawan sōki soba.
In September 2008, she was reported as the ninth oldest person in Okinawa Prefecture. On 12 July 2009, Miyazato passed away at the age of 110 years and 72 days due to natural causes at a hospital in Kitanakagusuku Village. Her registered place of residence was Uruma City.
Her age was verified by MHLW, Japan, and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 21 January 2026.
