BIOGRAPHY

Josephine Amorosi was born in New Jersey, USA, on 22 October 1914. The third oldest of eight children, she had a passion for reading but left high school after two years due to the long walk to school. She and her husband had a tradition of playing cards every Friday night back in New Jersey and often took trips to Las Vegas with their neighbors. She had at least one son, Donald.

At 109, she still loved playing bingo and spent every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday enjoying the game with her friends. The day before her 109th birthday in 2023, she received celebratory proclamations from Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump. Even at this age, she lived independently, doing her own laundry, cooking, and cleaning. She remained sharp-minded and walked without the assistance of a cane or walker.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Fabrizio Villatoro and Filipe Lopes, and validated on 30 October 2024.
