Hide Endō (Japanese: 遠藤ひで) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. She is the oldest living person in Shizuoka Prefecture.

BIOGRAPHY

Endō was born in Japan on 13 January 1913.

At some point, Endō moved into a nursing home for the elderly in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City. In 2021, local officials visited her and presented Shizuoka-made tea along with a congratulatory handwritten placard to celebrate her 108th birthday. At that time, she was the second-oldest person in the Shimizu Ward. At the age of 110, she can still move around in her wheelchair unassisted and reportedly maintains a hearty appetite, especially for sweet treats like tea and coffee with sugar. According to her, the key to longevity is not being picky about food, eating well, and reading the newspaper every morning.

RECOGNITION

  • On 30 December 2022, following the death of 110-year-old Kin Horiuchi of Suruga Ward, she became the oldest living person in Shizuoka City.
  • Following the passing of Masu Usui (age 114) of Oyama Town on 21 May 2025, Endō became the oldest living person in Shizuoka Prefecture.
