Gai was born in Isola d’Asti, Piedmont, Italy, on 19 June 1895. She died in the city of Milan on 11 May 2006 at the age of 110 years, 326 days.
Gai likely became Lombardy’s oldest resident following the death of Pasqualina Colli on 29 March 2005. It is currently uncertain as to who her successor was.
Gai’s age was verified by Giovanni Alunni and validated by the GRG on 27 June 2005.
