BIOGRAPHY

Hopkins was born as Annie Thornton in Mount Pleasant, Texas, on 14 July 1914. She worked as a secretary, and married World War II veteran Harold Hopkins in Roby, Texas, on 5 July 1960. The couple had no children. Hopkins was widowed on 20 January 2014 when her husband died aged 94.

Hopkins currently lives in a nursing home in Sweetwater, Texas, at the age of 110. During her centenarian years, she was reported as having a sharp mind, and able to use her wheelchair to move around the home independently.
