BIOGRAPHY

Little was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, USA, on 17 January 1914, to parents William Edward Kirby and Lillie Crider. She had two sisters and two brothers.

At some point, she married Walter Lee Little. The couple had five children: Howard (whom she survived), Walter Lee (who died in infancy), Baxter, John, and James. Early in their marriage, the couple worked as sharecroppers near Scottsboro, Alabama. In 1942, the family moved to Flintstone. During her working years, she worked as a seamstress for C D Genter, up until her retirement at the age of 74 in 1988. Her husband died in 1981.

Little was a member of Flintstone Baptist Church for over 81 years. She attributed her longevity to abstaining from drinking and smoking, frequent hand washing, maintaining regular sleep patterns, and adopting a stress-free attitude.

Little passed away in Flintstone, Georgia, USA, on 23 January 2024, at the age of 110 years, 6 days. She was survived by three of her sons, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-great-grandchildren.
