Beulah Mae Elchert was born in Batesville, Arkasas on 22 July 1897, to parents Ellis and Mary Johnson. She married three times, with her third husband being Paul Elchert, whom she married in 1982.

Beulah Mae Elchert passed away in Fostoria, Hancock County, Ohio, USA on 1 July 2008, aged 110 years, 345 days. She was survived by her husband, stepdaughter, seven step-grandchildren, numerous step great-grandchildren, and seven step great-great grandchildren.
