BIOGRAPHY

Quintero was born in Sonsón, Antioquia Department, Colombia, on 22 August 1914. She was the youngest of five siblings, having two brothers and two sisters.

In 1940, she got married and went on to have four children. Two of her children, Nora, aged 83, and Roberto, aged 73, were still alive as of February 2024. She began her career as a trader but eventually transitioned into a real estate consultant. In addition to her professional life, she actively participated in games and sports clubs. Her passion for travel took her to Europe, and she visited the United States more than 10 times. Her last trip to the United States occurred when she was 95 years old. Her eldest daughter described her personality as positive, intelligent, and generous. Despite her training as an educator, she never pursued a career in that field. She enjoyed reciting poems and singing.

As of January 2024, she was reported to be in incredible health and underwent regular check-ups with her family doctor every six months. At the time, she resided with her son Roberto in Medellín.
