Foy Avis Ingram was an American supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Foy Ingram was born in Farmer, Randolph County, North Carolina, USA, on 28 November 1903. Her parents were John Thomas Ingram (1856–1931) and Christianna M. “Crissie” Cranford (1870–1971).

She graduated from Asheboro High School and later from the Woman’s College Business School. In 1923, she moved from Asheboro to Raleigh to begin her career with the Secretary of State’s Motor Vehicles Licensing Section, which eventually became the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. By the time of her retirement in 1970, she was serving as Director of the department’s Registration Division—the division responsible for motor vehicle licensing, titling, and financial responsibility—a role she had held since 1946. In recognition of her exceptional service to the state, she was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by the Governor of North Carolina. In 1988, Foy moved to The Pines in Davidson.

Longevity ran in her family: her mother lived to be 100, and her younger sister, Anna Glades Land (1915–2021), lived to be 106.

Foy Ingram passed away in Davidson, North Carolina, on 19 March 2016, at the age of 112 years, 112 days.
