Lucille Treccase was an American supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Lucille Treccase was born in Foxburg, Pennsylvania, USA, on 18 October 1905, to Mayme Smith and James Kelly. She grew up in Butler and graduated among the top of her class at Butler High School. For five years, she worked as a secretary at Standard Steel Car Company in Butler. Her father was employed by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, the oldest railroad in the United States.

At a dance, she met Dr. Joseph P. Treccase, a physician who had served in the Army during World War I and maintained a medical practice in Butler. The couple married on 15 October 1928. After returning from his wartime service, he completed his college education, attended medical school, and became a doctor. He later rejoined the Army as a lieutenant colonel during World War II. Following his military service, he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh. On 7 January 1981, after 52 years of marriage, she was widowed.

Treccase was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church. In 2008, she moved to Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, Pennsylvania.

Treccase died at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, Pennsylvania, on 31 August 2018 at the age of 112 years, 317 days.

RECOGNITION

Treccase’s age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 25 October 2017.

Following the passing of of Delphine Gibson on 9 May 2018, she became the oldest living person in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Icie Clark.
