Thérèse Joséphine Ladigue (née Terrier) was a French supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

BIOGRAPHY

Thérèse Ladigue was born in Lyon, France, on 15 February 1903. She worked at a paper company in Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement, eventually becoming its secretary. It was there that she met her future husband, whom she married in the 1940s. Widowed in 1980, she had a daughter, Janine.

She lived at home until the age of 111, after which she moved into the Château de Saint-Priest residence in Saint-Priest on 13 March 2014, joining her daughter Janine, who was already a resident. Her daughter passed away in November 2015.

Thérèse Ladigue passed away in Saint-Priest, on 5 February 2016, at the age of 112 years, 355 days.

RECOGNITION

On 12 May 2015, following the passing of Olympe Amaury, she became the oldest living person in Metropolitan France.

At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in France, after Eudoxie Baboul, who resided in French Guiana in South America.

Ladigue’s age was verified by the Les Grands Centenaires Français, and validated by the the ESO on 27 January 2020.
