LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of João Paulo De Souza of Brazil at age 110. He was born in Ceará-Mirim, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil on 16 June 1902. He was a husband and a father of six children. He is the first documented male supercentenarian from the State of Rio Grande do Norte.

De Souza founded Armazém Pará with his son Pedro Câmara de Souza in 1959. Over the next 40 years, he opened multiple store chains, and the company grew into Natal’s largest construction materials retailer. Upon retiring, one of his sons took on the role of managing the company. Although he was in a wheelchair and hard of hearing as a centenarian, De Souza still played an active role in his stores by checking the products on the shelves every day to ensure they met his standards.

João Paulo de Souza passed away in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, on 20 December 2012, at the age of 110 years, 187 days.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira at 112 years old. She was a Brazilian supercentenarian who was the oldest documented person who died in Rio Grande do Norte.

Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira was born on 26 August 1900 in Parelhas, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Her father Felix Gomes was one of the founders of the city of Parelhas where she worked as a farmer.

Izabel de Oliveira had nine children three of whom died in infancy. When she was celebrating her 110th birthday, she lived with three of her children in Varzea do Barro community, Parelhas.

Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira passed away on 4 May 2013 in Parelhas, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. She was 112 years and 251 days old at the time of her death.
