Mamie Johnson was born in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, on 13 January 1906. She was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 5 children.

Mamie worked at Standard Candy Co. in Nashville until she was 65. At 101, she moved to the Spring Meadows Health Care Center in Clarksville. She attributed her longevity to walking and her faith (being a member of Woodmont Baptist Church).

Johnson passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, on 27 May 2016, at the age of 110 years, 135 days. She was survived by three children, 11 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Millie Johnson was born in the United States on 26 May 1913.

As a centenarian, she moved into a senior living facility in Canaan, Connecticut. On her 108th birthday, she went on a motorcycle ride with her granddaughter.

On 18 June 2023, following the passing of 111-year-old Mary Provost, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Connecticut.
