Yvonne Berthe Edmée Bouton (née Schmidt) was a French supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) and recognised by LongeviQuest (LQ).

Biography

Bouton was born as Yvonne Berthe Edmée Schmidt in Noël-Cerneux, Doubs department, on 24 June 1907. She worked for several organisations in Pagnoz, Jura department, before moving to a nursing home in Salins-les-Bains in her later years.

As a centenarian, Bouton was an independent person, wanting to do as much as possible by herself. She died on 31 August 2017 at the age of 110 years, 68 days; her successor as Bourgogne-Franche-Comté’s oldest resident was Madeleine Chat (1907 – 2020).
