Mark Herzog Behrends was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

Behrends was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska, USA, on 16 May 1905, to parents Herman John Behrends (1874–1973) and Augusta Marie Herzog (1882–1959). Both his mother and paternal grandparents were born in Germany. He had two older siblings: Carl Behrends (1901–1982) and Edith Marie Huss (1902–1993). He grew up on his family’s farm in eastern Nebraska.

On 26 February 1930, he married Irene Schreiner (1910–1983) in Nebraska City. The couple had seven children: Lois Bassinger, Arlene Marie Bassinger (1933–2002), Allen, Mary Lou Woods, Dale, Dennis, and Dean (1950– 1968). He was a farmer for most of his life. According to his daughter, he was out in the fields from morning till night. In his later years, he was employed in maintenance at Masters Implement in Nebraska City. He retired in 1983, the same year his wife passed away.

According to his daughter, he always told everyone that the reason he had lived so long was drinking one can of beer every day at 3 p.m. He was able to renew his driver’s license for five years when he was 106. He drove a little after that, but his family convinced him it would be best if he quit. His 110th birthday was celebrated at First Christian Church in Nebraska City. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing, playing cards, and working in his yard. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City.

Behrends passed away in Nebraska City, Nebraska, USA, on 13 June 2015, at the age of 110 years, 28 days. He was survived by five children, 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 51 great-great-grandchildren.

In May 2015, he celebrated his 110th birthday, becoming the second documented male supercentenarian in the U.S. state of Nebraska and the first man to reach this age in the state in 20 years, the previous one being Luther Goding in July 1994.

At the time of death, he was the oldest living person in the U.S. state of Nebraska.
