Marjorie Cooke was an Australian supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Australia at the time of death.

Cooke was born in Albert Park, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on 5 January 1906. She grew up in Malvern.

At some point, she married Keith Cooke. The couple traveled around the world many times. In 1950s and 1960s they spent 6 months in Europe and trips to Lebanon, United States, Persia, Iran and Pakistan.

At the age of 92, she moved into a nursing home. When asked about the secret of her longevity, according to Yahoo News, she attributed it to: “No smoking, no drinking and, above all, a brilliant zest for life.”

Cooke passed away at the residential retirement home BlueCross Cresthaven in East Malvern, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on 1 September 2017, at the age of 111 years, 239 days. She was survived by her sons, Lyell (aged 85), and John (aged 72), four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
