Margarete Thurner

Dr. Margarete Thurner was an Austrian supercentenarian who, at the time of death, was the fourth-oldest living person in Austria, and the second-oldest in Vienna. Her age has not been validated by LongeviQuest (LQ).

Thurner was born on 2 February 1913 in the Austria-Hungary empire. She was married and had three children. She worked as a lawyer and a notary until the age of 72.

As a centenarian, she could still drive independently, and enjoyed fresh air in the wooded areas of Hernals, Vienna – her district of residence. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she did not contract the virus or even catch a cold.
