Turner was born in Andover, Allegany County, New York, USA, on 17 December 1907, to parents Kenway G. Burdick (1887–1957) and Maude Dodge (1882–1919). She had two younger siblings: Ethel Harriet Burdick Baker (1912–2015) and Leo Morton Burdick (1916–1968).
On 1 May 1926, she married Howard Harrison Turner (1902–1990) in Alfred Station. The couple had four children. During the Great Depression, the family moved to Rochester, where both she and her husband were employed for many years by Eastman Kodak. After retiring, they enjoyed 20 years in Florida and traveling the country.
Her husband passed away in 1990, and one of their daughters, Theresa Young, passed away in 1997.
Turner passed away at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fairport, New York, USA, on 24 June 2018. She was survived by her son, James; daughters, Arlene Simon and Beverly McDonnell; as well as 10 of her 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
