Recognition

On 25 April 1998, following the death of 115-year-old Christian Mortensen of California, Parks became the world’s oldest living man, at the age of 113 years, 192 days. He held the title for 83 days, until his own death.

His age was verified by the Kestenbaum study, and he was later included to the GRG’s database of validated supercentenarians.
