Germaine Boucheron

Germaine Olympe Boucheron (née Jantet) is a French supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in the region of Île-de-France. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) and recognised by LongeviQuest (LQ).

Biography

Boucheron was born as Germaine Olympe Jantet in Charnod, a small village in Jura department, on 30 July 1900. She lived in Goussainville, a commune of Val d’Oise department, Île-de-France, for over 70 years before moving into a retirement home in Villiers-le-Bel at the end of 2002.

At the time of her 110th birthday, Boucheron was in good health aside from her deteriorating hearing. She died on 9 May 2011 at the age of 110 years, 283 days.

Recognition

Boucheron was reported in a magazine shortly after turning 110, and again in March 2011. For her 110th birthday, she was given a commemorative medal by local dignitaries.

Boucheron’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent, Laurent Toussaint, and Les Grands Centenaires Français, and was validated by the ESO on 28 April 2021.
