Yasue Mizuno (Japanese: 水野 家壽惠) was a Japanese supercentenarian.
Yasue Mizuno (水野家壽惠) was born on 7 December 1903 (Meiji 36), in Yawata Town, Kani District, Gifu Prefecture. She married Genbee Mizuno and later moved to Kasahara Town in Tajimi City. Together, they raised four sons and two daughters. At the time of her passing, she had 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mizuno was known for her bright complexion and youthful appearance, often said to look 20 years younger than her actual age. She had no particular food preferences and happily ate whatever her family prepared, with a special fondness for eel. Her days were filled with cheerful interactions with her family, and she especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.
She lived by the motto “thank you,” a phrase she often repeated like a mantra, and was deeply appreciated by those around her for her warm and grateful spirit. Mizuno maintained a disciplined lifestyle—rising every morning at 6 a.m.—and reportedly had not taken any medication for 40 years.
Mizuno passed away at a hospital in Tajimi City on 22 January 2014, due to acute respiratory failure, at the age of 110 years and 46 days.
She became the oldest living person in Gifu Prefecture following the death of 109-year-old Yasu Ogiso on 7 February 2013. In recognition of her longevity, she received a congratulatory visit from the mayor of Tajimi City, as well as a certificate and flowers from the Gifu Prefectural Government.
After her death, the title of the oldest living person in Gifu Prefecture passed to Teru Kobayashi, a 109-year-old woman from Ikeda Town, Ibi District.
Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 17 July 2025.
